Sariska National Park

Sariska National Park is situated in the Aravalli Range, approximately 107 kilometers from Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan. It covers an area of about 866 square kilometers, making it one of the larger national parks in the state.The national park is home to a diverse range of wildlife species, including Bengal tigers, leopards, sambar deer, spotted deer (chital), wild boars, langurs, and various species of birds and reptiles. It is particularly known for its population of royal Bengal tigers, which are the apex predators in the park.Sariska National Park boasts a varied landscape of dry deciduous forests, grasslands, rocky hills, and scrublands. The flora includes dhok (Anogeissus pendula), dhak (Butea monosperma), tendu (Diospyros melanoxylon), and various acacia species, providing habitats for the park's diverse wildlife.Sariska was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1955 and later upgraded to a national park in 1982. Over the years, it has been a focal point for conservation efforts, particularly aimed at protecting the endangered Bengal tiger and other wildlife species.The national park offers various activities for visitors, including wildlife safaris, nature walks, birdwatching, and trekking. Jeep safaris are popular for exploring the park's terrain and spotting wildlife in their natural habitats.
