Salihundam is a historical village in the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh, India, known for its archaeological and religious significance. Located on the southern bank of the Vamsadhara River, Salihundam shines as a beacon of historical heritage. Visitors can explore an ancient Buddhist complex that dates back to the 2nd century. This site showcases an array of stupas, monolithic votive stupas, a Mahastupa, platforms for sacred relics, and a number of sculptures that reflect the Buddhist art and architecture of the time. Later excavations uncovered four Buddhist stupas and structural temples, epitomizing the spread of Buddhism in southern India during the later periods.
