Ramdara Mandir
Ramdara temple is a perfect blend of Nature,tranquility,religion and history. It is located at Loni kalbor village in outskirts of Pune city. Temple was built by Shri Devipuri Maharaj (Dhundi baba) in 1970 with the help of villagers near the ancient relics found in the hills. According to locals there were some ancient temple dating to antiquity there and a well which was believed to have been used by God Ram and Goddess Sita in ancient times. Baba personally designed the Temple according to the ancient Science of `Vastu Shastra' and designed the moat and Lake which harvested rain water during the Monsoons.
There was the idol of Lord Ganesha at the entrance. Few steps going downward lead to the sanctums of other Gods and Goddesses.The main deity here is Lord Shiva along with Goddess Parvathy. Mythology highlighting the construction of this temple is painted on the walls and those interested can check it out. The idol of Nandi made in marble stands in front of the main deity. About 12 Shiv lingas are placed in various parts of the temple.But this temple is more famous for the Rama, Laxman and Sita Idols and hence the name Ramdara.You can find murtis of Lord Hanuman, Dattatreya, Lakshmi, and Krishna also here. .Also check out the beautifully sculptured images of Surdas, Meera, Ramadas, Tukaram, Sant Gyaneshwar, Swami Vivekananda, Nanakji- the spiritual guru of Sikhs and Sage Vashisht on the other walls of the temple.
