Ellis memorial Church

Ellis memorial Church is located in Dharapuram. The Church is affiliated to the CSI, Tamil Nadu. It has a history that dates back to the 19th century. The cathedral was built in 1893, by the British. This identifies Ellis memorial Church as the city's oldest monument. Reverend Ellis (also known as J.J.) decided that the best thing for me would be to learn Tamil in Dharapuram and whenever possible to go out to the villages with him in order to know the background and village life of the children in the boarding school. He built the C.S.I. Ellis Memorial Church in 1929.
